Ashland New Plays Festival has auditions in Ashland on July 25 and digital submissions accepted until then!
ANPF operates under Equity’s SPT contract; both union and nonunion actors are welcome. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, and therefore encourage performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to audition.
The 2019 Fall Festival performs October 16–20 in Ashland, Oregon, with approximately 10-12 hours of rehearsal beginning around October 12. Out-of-town actors are provided with a travel stipend and housing. Actors read the scripts from music stands–no memorization is required. See below for more details.
Audition in Ashland, OR
When: Thursday, July 25, from 12:00 to 5:30 pm
Where: Southern Oregon University, Music Building Room 132**
How: Email email@example.com a digital copy of your headshot and resume and include ASHLAND AUDITION in the subject line. In your email, please specify whether you would like a midday (12-3 pm) or late afternoon (3:30-5:30 pm) audition appointment, and allow 2-3 days to receive a confirmation. If you are unsure of your availability in advance, WALK-INS will also be seen, time permitting.
For the audition: Please prepare one contemporary monologue. Your piece should not exceed a total of two minutes. You will also be asked to cold read sides, which will be made available at the audition.
**The SOU Music Building is located at 450 South Mountain Avenue, Ashland, OR. There is street parking on Mountain Ave. or on Ashland St. or Henry St. nearby. You can enter the building through the door on Mountain or from the campus side. Room 132 is on the main floor.
When: We accept digital submissions at any time. For consideration in the Fall 2019 Festival, please submit materials by July 25, 2019.
How: Email firstname.lastname@example.org a digital copy of your headshot and resume and include a link to one of the following:
- A self-taped contemporary monologue or a reel on an outside platform such as Vimeo or Youtube. (Please send the password if your video is not public.)
- A website that includes your reel.
About the Job
Actors in the Fall Festival should expect 10-12 hours of rehearsal, followed by two public performances and talkbacks. Actors read the scripts from music stands–no memorization is required.
